Brendan Neustaeter - Drums Peace River (780) 618-5130 email
I've been a percussionist since before I received my first Drum Set, playing on pots and pails with wooden spoons, just as many a child with rhythm on the brain is prone to do. Since that time I've studied with a handful of teachers, the most influential of which was Jacob Gregory, who introduced me to many styles and mindsets that have greatly influenced the way I approach both playing and teaching.

First and foremost I believe that music needs to be fun! I think it's possible to smother a person's ability to enjoy music and express themselves creativity if their early experiences are negative. So my primary goal, especially early on, is to provide a relaxed environment and ensure that a healthy balance is maintained between technical progress and the student's enjoyment of the process.
I'm naturally more adept at various styles of Rock and Metal, but I'm also decently proficient in more traditional styles such as Shuffle, Swing, and Funk. I can provide an introduction to Jazz, some Afro-Cuban beats, playing in various time signatures, and playing on the Cajon (Box Drum). And I also teach students to read and write sheet music for drums, with most students getting the hang of the basics during their first lesson!
If yourself, or you child, is interested in learning to play the Drums, I'd be very happy to discuss the possibility of being your instructor!
You can contact me at either the phone number or email address listed above.
