Lois Alexander specializing in piano, voice and trumpet lessons.  Holding a degree in piano with Royal Conservatory of Music.  She has studied with 4 different voice teachers from the Vancouver and Kamloops area and has taught trumpet for 45 years.  She has had many successes in teaching theory and history.  Her rates are as follows: $20.00/half hour lesson, 45 min. lessons beginning at Grade 5 and 1 hour at Grade 9.  Voice and trumpet are $17.50/ half hour. Theory  and History are integrated into the lesson with homework due a day ahead of the lesson.  If taking Pedagogy it is taught every other week.  Voice lessons are 45 minutes long ($26.00 per week) as time is needed for vocal warm-ups, sight and ear work. Theory is also encouraged along with classical works, the same for trumpet.  Lessons begin the 2nd week in Sept. and end either the last week of May or 1st week in June (30 lessons a year). Additional lessons are available for students doing exams in June. The price of the lesson is multiplied by 30 and divided into 10 equal payments Sept.to June paid by post-dated cheques or two payments of 5 months.each. The lesson time has been reserved for that student and is to be honoured.  If there is a cancellation I will try to make it up but if not there is the rest of June to do it in.  There are 5 different times to perform.  One the beginning of November in my studio where divided into 2 groups.  Up to 12 years, the other 13 and up, up to 3 songs, the Canadian Concert, Christmas (everyone is together playing or singing Christmas music- a highlight), Performing at the Harvest Lodge just before Music Festival and the May Year-end Concert. I usually host a barbeque following and we watch the concert together. Festival and exams are encouraged. My students are made up of age 5 to Adult.
